Having confirmed that IL-17KO mice suffering more severe colitis had impaired ability to generate Ly6C+MHC Class II+ cells expressing the highest M2 marker within CD11b+ cell population and CD11b+ cells of the inflamed colonic LPLs from WT mice abundant in Ly6C+MHC Class II+ cells expressed increased level of most genes implicated in M2/wound healing macrophages (Figure 3 and 4), we next sought to determine whether CD11b+Ly6C+MHC Class II+ cells are responsible for reduced colonic inflammation seen in WT mice.
