Many different chemokine pathways are known and their role in cancer has been completely and well reviewed by others [53]; therefore, in this review we focus on chemokine axes involved in lymphatic metastasis: the chemokine receptor 7 (CCR7) with its ligands CCL19 and 21 and the CXCR4/CXCR12 axis. This evidence concerns the gene CXCR4 and cancer.
