In conclusion, we demonstrated that INPP4B functions as a suppressor of prostate carcinoma invasion by inhibiting a PKC - IL-8 – Cox-2 – BIRC5 axis, potentially by dephosphorylating or sequestering the lipid substrate PI(4,5)P2, an important second messenger in PLC/PKC signaling. The gene discussed is HSPG2; the disease is prostate carcinoma.
