There have been recent reports of the anti-tumor effects of decorin on various malignant tumors, including uterine cervical carcinoma cells (Grant et al. 2002), ovarian cancer cells (Nash et al. 1999), colon carcinoma cells (Santra et al. 1995), breast cancer cells (Reed et al. 2005), and pancreatic cancer cells (Koninger et al. 2004). This evidence concerns the gene DCN and familial pancreatic carcinoma.
