Nineteen patients with the mean age of 54±12 years old (a decade older than patients with chronic hepatitis B (54±12 vs. 42±12 years, P=0.001)) with complication of cirrhosis, showed higher serum p53 (1.98±1.22 vs 1.29±0.72 U/mL; P=0.050). Here, TP53 is linked to chronic hepatitis B virus infection.
