EGFR and neoplasm: Several data indicate that the translocation of cell surface receptors of the EGFR family (EGFR, EGFRvIII, ErbB-2, ErbB-3 and ErbB-4) as well as other receptors (i.e. fibroblast growth factor receptor, vascular endothelial growth factor receptor, insulin-like growth factor receptor, cMET), from the cell membrane to the nucleus is involved in stimulation of cell proliferation, tumor progression, DNA repair and chemo-radio-resistance [25, 35, 36].
