In experimental studies on glioblastoma cell lines, these authors demonstrated that changes in the expression of genes encoding proteins such as lysyl oxidase (LOX), collagens of groups 2, 4, and 6, and metalloproteinases 2 and 9 were associated with changes in the physical microenvironment of the extracellular matrix in neoplastic brain tissues. This evidence concerns the gene LOX and glioblastoma.
