Deregulation of the c-myc gene is a constant feature of human Burkitt lymphoma (BL), with translocations linking c-myc to any of the immunoglobulin heavy or light chain (IgH, Igκ or Igλ) locus and with a phenotype that may vary from immature RAG expressing B cell lymphoma or leukemia to mature B cell lymphoma [2]. The gene discussed is MYC; the disease is B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma.
