When we compared our LN patients to those PG female patients (with author’s permission), we observed that, despite a similar age, BMI, estimated GFR and proteinuria (data not shown), LN patients presented significantly lower 25(OH)D levels (9.9±4.4 vs 18.4±11.1 ng/ml, p = 0.04), probably contributing to an increase in PTH levels [73 (29–102) vs 19 (10–26) pg/ml, p = 0.003]. The gene discussed is PTH; the disease is lobular neoplasia.
