TLR4 and necrotizing enterocolitis: Liu et al. (42) reported that Lactobacillus reuteri strains DSM 17938 and ATCCPTA4659 led to decrease intestinal protein levels of TLR4 and decreased pro-inflammatory cytokine levels in parallel with inhibition of TLR4-signaling via the NF-κB pathway in newborn rats with necrotizing enterocolitis.
