PRL and polycystic ovary syndrome: PCOS women showed significantly higher serum levels of total testosterone (TT) (0.28 ± 0.28 nmol/l; P < 0.001), androstenedione (A4) (2.51 ± 1.62 ng/ml; P < 0.001), dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS) (166.49 ± 83.28 μg/dl; P < 0.001), free androgen index (FAI) (2.32 ± 2.23; P < 0.001) and prolactin (PRL) (22.30 ± 14.43 ng/ml; P = 0.002) versus non-PCOS ones.
