In the current study, we found that the low expression of RASAL2 in vitro could significantly promote the EMT process, including up-regulation of the expression of mesenchymal-related markers, such as vimentin and N-cadherin, and down-regulation of the expression of epithelial phenotype-related markers, such as E-cadherin, claudin-1 and ZO-1, in ovarian cancer cell lines. The gene discussed is CDH2; the disease is ovarian cancer.
