SNAI1 and colorectal carcinoma: Additionally, a few publications have shown that miR-34c is down-regulated in colorectal cancer (CRC) specimens and plays a tumour-suppressive role in CRC by targeting SNAIL1, a transcriptional repressor linked to the EMT programme and tissue-invasive activity, and some components of the canonical Wnt signalling cascades, which control cancer stem cell generation and cancer progression 11–14.
