Meanwhile, to determine whether the miR-34c-mediated down-regulation of KITLG could affect the capacity of CRC cells to grow in a semisolid medium, HT-29 and HCT-116 cells were seeded in soft agar and allowed to grow for 14 days, and the number of colonies from the HT-29 and HCT-116 cells infected with miR-34c was significantly less than those of the controls, while the number of colonies from cells infected with the miR-34c inhibitor was significantly increased compared to the controls (Fig.4).
