Women with PCOS had significantly higher mean fasting insulin and triglyceride concentrations and a higher mean HOMA Index and were more likely to have IR (45.3% vs. 21.4%, p = 0.015), but not more likely to meet the criteria for MetS (20.75% vs. 8.11%, p = 0.103) than were those without PCOS. Here, INS is linked to polycystic ovary syndrome.
