Although no convincing benefit for Src inhibitors as single agents in patients with refractory metastatic colorectal cancer has thus far been reported from early-phase trials [17], preclinical studies have shown that the combination of the Src inhibitor dasatinib with oxaliplatin significantly reduced the volume of hepatic metastases in mice relative to treatment with either agent alone [18]. This evidence concerns the gene SRC and metastatic colorectal cancer.
