Gefitinib (see Figure 8), a selective EGFR (ErbB1) tyrosine kinase inhibitor has been approved for the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer.It prevents autophosphorylaton of EGFR resulting in the inhibition of cyclin- dependent kinase activity and cell cycle arrest in the G1 phase [132]. Here, EGFR is linked to non-small cell lung carcinoma.
