ABCB1 and chronic myelogenous leukemia, BCR-ABL1 positive: Hiwase et al. showed that inhibition of ABCB1 activity by nilotinib can be used to enhance the intracellular concentration of dasatinib in CML cells, suggesting that a combination of low-dose dasatinib and nilotinib may provide an additive/synergistic anti-leukemic effect in leukemic stem cells that expresses ABCB1 and are refractory to TKI therapy [126].
