Indeed, a drastic downregulation of CBX7 expression has been reported by several groups in malignant neoplasias including thyroid (Pallante et al., 2008), pancreatic (Karamitopoulou et al., 2010), colon (Pallante et al., 2010), lung (Forzati et al., 2012), gastric (Jiang et al., 2010), bladder (Hinz et al., 2008), breast (Mansueto et al., 2010) carcinomas and a reduced growth rate is achieved by the restoration of CBX7 expression in carcinoma cells of different origin (Pallante et al., 2008; Pallante et al., 2010; Mansueto et al., 2010; Li et al., 2010). This evidence concerns the gene CBX7 and carcinoma.
