In AH-NSCs, however, Ascl1 does not bind this site and many other sites bound in GBM CSCs, and reciprocally, many Ascl1-bound loci were found in AH-NSCs, and not in GBM CSCs, including sites near the cell-cycle regulators E2f1, Ccna1, Ccnd2, and Skp2 (data not shown), suggesting that Ascl1 controls the proliferation of hippocampal RGLs by regulating different genes from those regulated in cancer cells and the injured retina. This evidence concerns the gene ASCL1 and glioblastoma.
