IFN-γ protein expression followed a similar pattern, where tuberculosis patients (median 3.8 IU/ml, IQR 1.0–6.3) and persons with LTBI (median 2.7 IU/ml, IQR 2.0–8.0) had higher levels compared to controls (median 0.0 IU/ml, IQR 0.0–0.0) (figure 4C).
