The levels of phosphorylated CREB in the subcortical and cortical regions were also significantly higher (subcortical region P = 0.0412 [90 dpi]; cortical region P = 0.0093 [70 dpi], 0.0376 [90 dpi]), or at least there was a trend to higher levels in scrapie-infected than in mock-infected mice (subcortical region P = 0.0936 [70 dpi]) (Figure 6).
