The specific objectives were twofold: (i) to compare the glycemic control achieved by using sliding-scale (Actrapid or basal-bolus (Actrapid and Insulatard) regimens for the management of severe or acute hyperglycemia in T2DM patients; and (ii) to analyze factors associated with the types of insulin therapy used in the management of severe or acute hyperglycemia.
