In contrast to DBCG and British Columbia trials, a Japanese study found that PMRT did not offer better locoregional control and OS in patients with 1–3 positive LN who received systemic therapy and adequate dissection.38 The recent published study by Yang et al. who analyzed 544 T1–2 N1 breast cancer patients with or without PMRT has shown significant reduction of LR and improvement of OS in ER negative and LVI positive patients.39 Kyndi et al. had analyzed 1,000 of the 3,083 patients in the DBCG 82b & c stratified by ER, PgR and Her-2/neu status. Here, ESR1 is linked to breast cancer.
