Baseline PEDF was independently associated with CKD progression (hazard ratio = 2.76; 95% confidence interval = 1.39–5.47; P = .004), adjusted for age, sex, waist circumference, diabetes duration, hemoglobin A1c, systolic blood pressure, use of antihypertensive drugs, C-reactive protein, and eGFR.
