As shown in Table 2, baseline PEDF concentration was an independent predictor of CKD progression (adjusted HR = 2.76; 95% CI = 1.39–5.47; P = .004), together with SBP (HR = 1.03; 95% CI = 1.02–1.03; P < .001), duration of diabetes (HR = 1.04; 95% CI = 1.02–1.06; P < .001), CRP (HR = 1.18; 95% CI = 1.03–1.36; P = .020), and the use of antihypertensive drug(s) (HR = 2.31; 95% CI = 1.31–4.07; P = .004), in a model that also included age, sex, WC, HbA1c, and eGFR (Table 2). This evidence concerns the gene SERPINF1 and chronic kidney disease.
