Prima1 DNA methylation increased by 10–15% in subjects suffering from major depressive disorder [38] which interestingly shows some correlation with our finding of the highest level of Prima1 gene expression in the PTSD-vehicle group, which is a 0.69-fold increase in expression compared with the PTSD-midazolam group with the lowest level of expression. The gene discussed is PRIMA1; the disease is post-traumatic stress disorder.
