In mouse models, mice that lacked two potassium voltage-gated channels (Kv3.1 encoded by KCNC1 as well as Kv3.3) exhibited tremor, ataxia, and alcohol hypersensitivity (McMahon et al. 2004; Joho and Hurlock 2009), as well as altered circadian rhythms (Kudo et al. 2011). Here, KCNC3 is linked to cerebellar ataxia.
