In several different murine and human tumor cell lines, including 786-O (renal cell carcinoma), DU145 (prostate cancer), MDAH2774 (ovarian carcinoma), MDA-MB-468 (breast cancer), Renca cells (renal carcinoma) and several human myeloma cell lines, it has been shown that AZD1480 is able to downregulate P-STAT3 expression in tumor cells resulting in a delayed tumor growth in vivo[22–24]. The gene discussed is STAT3; the disease is neoplasm.
