We observed that CD56bright liver NK cells expressing high levels of the activating receptors NKp46 and NKG2D were inversely correlated with ISHAK score, a clinical measure of liver fibrosis (r = −0.9684, p<0.0001; r = −0.778, p = 0.038; figure 4A), and that the frequency of NKG2D+ CD56bright NK cells in the liver was inversely correlated with serum bilirubin (r = −0.861, p = 0.007; Figure 4A) which is a marker of liver function, cholestasis and hemoglobin turnover. Here, NCR1 is linked to Hepatic fibrosis.
