A combination of neuropsychological profile, albumin ratio and common CSF biomarkers for Alzheimer's disease could help to distinguish between pure dementia due to cerebral small vessels disease, Alzheimer's disease and AD + CSVD (for a synopsis, see figure 3, patients from group1 are indicated as ‘pure VD’ and patients from group2 as ‘AD+CSVD’). This evidence concerns the gene ALB and early-onset autosomal dominant Alzheimer disease.
