The absence of tumor suppressor phosphatase and tensin homolog (PTEN) in PCa cell line (DU145) and subsequent activation of PI3K/Akt pathway, which frequently occurs in PCa, lead to an increase in CXCR4 expression, regulating the growth and metastasis of bone through CXCL12/CXCR4 pathway. This evidence concerns the gene CXCL12 and posterior cortical atrophy.
