Two of the most overexpressed genes in HBV-associated HCC, found both by LCM and WLT, that may be of particular interest are AKR1B10 and IGF2BP3. AKR1B10 has recently been associated with several tumors including, but not limited to, pancreatic carcinoma [30], breast cancer [31], and papillary renal carcinoma [32]. The gene discussed is IGF2BP3; the disease is exocrine pancreatic carcinoma.
