Grape-derived products including resveratrol have been shown to reduce blood pressure in several animal models of hypertension including SHR (Miatello et al., 2005; Peng et al., 2005; Dolinsky et al., 2013), L-NAME (Bernatova et al., 2002), DOCA-salt (Jimenez et al., 2007; Chan et al., 2011), partially nephrectomized (Liu et al., 2005; Bhatt et al., 2011), Goldblatt 2 kidney, 1 clip (Toklu et al., 2010) and Ang II administration (Sarr et al., 2006; Dolinsky et al., 2013). The gene discussed is AGT; the disease is hypertensive disorder.
