Non-interacting and clinically relevant factors included in the multivariate logistic regression model were a modified Charlson comorbidity index > 2 (OR, 3.322; 95% CI, 0.753–14.661; p = 0.113), the existence of a sinus tract (OR, 5.300; 95% CI, 1.166–24.103; p = 0.031), a delayed referral to infectious disease specialist (OR, 1.134; 95% CI, 1.013–1.271; p = 0.029), and a decreased in CRP level at 1 month < 75% (OR, 3.183; 95% CI, 0.727–13.936; p = 0.124). This evidence concerns the gene CRP and infectious disease.
