Interestingly, the insulin-like growth factor I receptor (IGF-IR) is also a predominant target of miR-145, by which miR-145 suppresses the tumour growth of colorectal cancer and hepatocellular carcinoma, suggesting that the IGR/IRS1 pathway plays an important role in miR-145-mediated anti-proliferative function 86,102. This evidence concerns the gene IRS1 and colorectal cancer.
