In summary, our study shows that NUCKS1: i) increases the Tat-mediated transcription of the HIV-1 LTR in an NF-κB-independent manner ii) facilitates the interaction of Tat with TAR RNA in the LTR, and iii) plays an important role in the reactivation of latent HIV-1 infection. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and HIV-1 infection.
