In a multivariate model that is adjusted for other clinical variables, including age, sex, tumor size, tumor stage, and lymph node metastasis, SIRT3 expression remains to be associated with a significant increase in colon cancer-specific mortality (multivariate HR 2.40; 95% CI, 1.38–3.73, P = 0.003) and the five-year overall survival rate (multivariate HR 1.87; 95% CI, 1.12–3.26, P = 0.0068). The gene discussed is SIRT3; the disease is malignant colon neoplasm.
