Indeed, concomitant injection of AdASP-2 and T. cruzi led to (i) a strong specific immune response mediated by CD8+ T lymphocytes; (ii) lower expression of CD95, which led to resistance to anti-CD95-mediated apoptosis; (iii) protective immunity against experimental infection with T. cruzi [77] (Figure 3).
