Several significantly differentially methylated probes correspond to genes involved in cancer-related mechanisms such as cell death (MCF2L, RASSF5, RASSF6, CASZ1, SLC22A18, IFI27), tumorogenesis (CTSZ, TP73, CTSK, PIK3R1), KLK11, cell cycle (PPM1G, RANBP5, VAMP8) and cell differentiation (SMAF1, PAX6, PAX8). Here, VAMP8 is linked to cancer.
