KCNE2 and coronary artery disorder: In agreement with our hypothesis that common genetic factors exist between the COPD and CAD, we found two lung function-associated SNPs (rs2865531, located in the CFDP1 gene and rs9978142 located in the KCNE2 gene) that were also associated with CAD, the minor allele being associated with lower (rs2865531T) risk and increased risk of CAD (rs9978142T), respectively.
