The downregulation of Akt sensitizes chemoresistant ovarian cancer (OVCA) to CDDP-induced apoptosis, at least in part, by modulating cisplatin-induced, p53-dependent ubiquitination of Fas-associated death domain-like interleukin-1 beta-converting enzyme- (FLICE-) like inhibitory protein (FLIP) [27, 28]. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and ovarian carcinoma.
