In agreement with the oncogenic effect of PAK1 in HCC, treatment of IPA-3 (2,2-dihydroxy-1,1-dinaphthyladisuifide), a highly selective non-ATP-competitive allosteric PAK1 inhibitor, could markedly suppress the in vitro and in vivo growth of HCC via induction of apoptosis and inhibition of NF-κB activation [69]. This evidence concerns the gene NFKB1 and hepatocellular carcinoma.
