A clinical example shows that people treated with hormones including GH belonging to GH family that activates PI3K/Akt (Liu et al. 2011) also increase adverse effects, such as diabetes and glucose intolerance (Blackman et al. 2002), which can be expounded by possible high GSK3 activity in those people after a certain period of the hormone administration. The gene discussed is AKT1; the disease is diabetes mellitus.
