The finding that enhanced glycolytic activity plays a key role in cancer cell migration is alsoin line with a very recent study by De Bock et al, showing that glycolysis is themajor source of ATP production in endothelial cells and that the silencing of the glycolyticregulator PFKFB3 impairs the cell migration capacity and interferes with vessel sprouting (De Bocket al, 2013).
