Recently, Boci et al. demonstrated by means of the Western blotting analysis that exogenous expression of APRIL upregulated Bcl-2 in CD34+ cells, whereas APRIL neutralisation resulted in Bcl-2 downregulation in primary AML cells, indicating that APRIL protects AML from chemotherapeutic drugs through upregulation of Bcl-2 [26]. Here, BCL2 is linked to acute myeloid leukemia.
