Deutsch et al. [9] found that uptake was reduced (but not completely blocked) in FAAH-containing C6 glioma and N18 neuroblastoma cells following inhibition of the activity of this enzyme by the admittedly non-specific compounds methylarachidonoylfluorophosphonate and phenylmethylsulfonyl fluoride, whereas these compounds were without effect on the uptake of Hep2 laryngeal carcinoma cells, which lack FAAH.
