After adjusting for covariates, the wild, although less common, ESR1 PvuII CC genotype was associated with an OR = 2.0 (1.32–3.2, p = 0.004) for major atherosclerotic CVD and an OR = 3.0 (1.7–5.2; p<0.001) for myocardial infarction, while having T allele (CT or TT genotypes) conferred CV protection. This evidence concerns the gene ESR1 and myocardial infarction.
