The Dlgap gene family, encoding isoforms of the SAPAPs, includes Dlgap1, 2, 3 and 4. It has been demonstrated that the DLGAP family is involved in the pathophysiology of various psychiatric disorders, including Tourette’s syndrome, obsessive–compulsive disorder (OCD), autism spectrum disorders (ASDs) and schizophrenia [8,43-45]. This evidence concerns the gene DLGAP1 and psychiatric disorder.
