Testing the cells with depleted AhR for their ability to form tumors and metastasize in nude mouse xenograft model of breast cancer, we uncovered that lack of AhR has resulted in substantial reduction of the orthotopic xenograft tumor growth and experimental lung metastasis [25] (Figure 2), underscoring the critical role of AhR in driving both the tumor survival and metastasis.
