IFNG and uveitis: CD56+ T cell subsets, including CD8brightCD56+ and CD56+γδ T cells, are considered to be the cell population primarily responsible for IFN-γ production [5], and CD8brightCD56+ T cells in active BD uveitis have been reported to be polarized to produce larger amounts of IFN-γ on stimulation than those in inactive BD and normal controls [23].
