Although a role for Hax-1 in metastasis has been speculated based on its expression profile in metastatic cells [13, 14, 17, 20], the results presented here provide the first evidence that Hax-1 is critically required for the invasive migration of an ovarian carcinoma cell line in response to both LPA and serum growth factors. This evidence concerns the gene HAX1 and ovarian carcinoma.
