All the five parameters, white blood cell count, neutrophil count, CRP, nCD64 and nCD11b were significantly different between culture-positive suspected sepsis cases and controls (P<0.05) and between culture-negative suspected sepsis neonates and controls (P<0.05) except that the white blood count and neutrophil count were not statistically different between the culture-negative suspected sepsis neonates and controls (P = 0.217, 0.158; Table 4).
